THE COLOGNE NEW PHILHARMONIC celebrates SUMMER

The 2026 Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra concert season will continue in summer at Arenfels Castle in Bad Hönningen, Germany. Humorous, entertaining, and unforgettable moments await you on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the matinee at 11 a.m. and another concert at 3 p.m. in the extraordinary ambiance of the NEW CONCERT HALL in SCHLOSS ARENFELS.

Classical highlights include Antonio Vivaldi's „Summer“ from the "Four Seasons," works by Johann Sebastian Bach, W.A. Mozart, Henry Purcell and more virtuoso pieces.
Volker Hartung and his Orchestra invite you on a journey through time from the Baroque to the Romantic period and their ingenious music from Venice via Salzburg to Bad Hönningen.

The musicians have immersed themselves in the playing style and sound aesthetics of the time and interpret popular classical music in its unique style, framed by virtuoso solo pieces. For many years, Volker Hartung has been presenting his audience with serious, cheerful, contemplative programs from the rich repertoire of popular classical music in his enchanting way.

With his catchy and humorous manner, he inspires his audience again and again, creating a connection between orchestra, music, and the auditorium. From beginners to connoisseurs, everyone will find access to the many facets of classical music at their concerts.

Under its umbrella, a unique platform offers young prizewinners of international instrumental competitions the opportunity to participate in extraordinary concert projects beyond the boundaries of their professional lives.
It is run by 'Friends and Patrons of the Cologne New Philharmonic e.V.', a non-profit association that supports the orchestra's mission as a musical ambassador of a peaceful world by integrating numerous foreign young artists now living in Germany.


ENTRANCE FEES: Adults 49 € (1st category), 39 € (2nd cat.), 29 € (3rd cat.), Students 19 €.
Children up to 12 years of age, accompanied by a full-paying adult, have free admission.
